Elton John is gradually getting better following a medical condition…
The “Rocket Man” crooner wrote, “Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye.”
John continued by saying that although he is mending, it is a very slow process and that it will take some time for the damaged eye to recover its sight.
He thanked all those who have supported him: “I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.”
The singer has been resting comfortably at home during the summer and is pleased with his current state of recuperation. Supporters sent their best wishes and hopes that Elton John gets well soon.
One fan said, “Prayers for healing, Sir Elton. .” Another fan echoed similar sentiments, “Praying for healing for your eye.” Someone else expressed their support with, “Loveand prayers.”
John continues to be positive and appreciative of the support he’s received in spite of this health concern, reminding everyone why he’s still a well-liked celebrity both on and off the stage.
While on stage, John never performs without his sunglasses. “I tried it in the early Eighties but I felt exposed. Glasses give me confidence. I’m not me without them,” he disclosed.
John revealed that he has worn innumerable pairs of spectacles and has a thorough understanding of what constitutes a high-quality frame. Walk down Greek Street and you’ll see his name on his first independent store.
One wall of the space is filled with 158 pairs of his own optical frames and sunglasses, some of which were influenced by the outfits he has worn on stage over the years. He stated wearing them all the time with pride.
In addition to his eyes, John has experienced hip health issues. His Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour through Europe and the UK was postponed from 2021 to 2023.
He explained his reasons, “At the end of my summer break I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and have been in considerable pain and discomfort in my hip ever since.”
The musician revealed that his discomfort got worse over time even with intensive physical therapy and specialist care. Moving had become more and more challenging as a result. To guarantee his complete recuperation and to avoid any possible long-term complications, the physicians suggested surgery.
“I will be undertaking a program of intensive physiotherapy that will ensure a full recovery and a return to full mobility without pain.,” said John.
The 77-year-old was briefly hospitalized in 2023 following another health incident following a fall at his Nice, France property. He was later let go, though.
His agent attested to the fact that the day following his fall, he was taken home in good health following a precautionary visit to a nearby hospital for examinations. After pictures of John in a wheelchair appeared in headlines in 2022, followers worried about his health.
He turned to Instagram to address the speculations, writing, “The true story is that I’m in top health, loving my shows and playing and singing at my very best. I give 100% every night and never want to disappoint, especially after everyone has waited so long to get back to seeing shows.”
The gifted singer thanked everyone, saying he was grateful for the amazing response he has received from the crowd at every event he has presented and that he is enjoying every second of it.
